Last week, the wives of some of the fishermen spoke out publicly about the symptoms their husbands were experiencing. This week, some fishermen are starting to come forward. In this WDSU TV interview, one of the fishermen reports feeling drugged, disoriented, tingling, fatigued, and also reporting shortness of breath and cough. These are symptoms that are consistent with what one might expect from exposure to hydrocarbons in oil.

Those are symptoms of hypoxia. No doubt toxins are displacing oxygen absorption. No one should be out there without respirators and Hazmat suits, no one.

They all need to be tested stat for O2 sats and pulmonary function tests. In fact, they should have been given baseline tests before they started working, and should be getting regular follow-up testing. Without baseline tests, BP will be able to claim pre-existing condition, especially for any smokers in the crowd.
