Combined Wind and Solar Energy Facility Proposed for the Antelope Valley (Calif.)
http://www.sfvbj.com/news/2010/aug/09/combined-wind-and-solar-energy-facility-proposed-a/

Plans are underway for a state-of-the-art green energy farm in the Antelope Valley, the first wind energy project to be built in Los Angeles County.

Element Power US LLC will develop a green energy facility capable of generating up-to-230 megawatts, enough clean energy to power more than 70,000 California homes. The company has filed an application with the Los Angeles County Department of Regional Planning to move forward with the project.

The power produced at the project would most likely be sold to a California utility through a long-term power purchase agreement.
The facility, to be called the Wildflower Green Energy Farm, will be located on private property along West Lancaster Road near 170th Street West, an area of the Antelope Valley that boasts some of the strongest and most consistent on-peak winds in the entire state of California, according to the company.
