Alternative Energy: Will U.S. Lead or Follow?

1. I've always wondered why we went in exactly the wrong direction on energy.
Coal, oil, nuclear, gas - it's all dirty. We totally ignored green renewable energy - wind and solar (which is really the same thing). And we ignore the real cost of coal, oil, nuclear, and gas, which includes pollution, illness and death, and cleanup costs, then claim that renewable, clean energy is too expensive.

Renewable, clean energy is inexpensive compared to the true cost of these dirty fuels.
