Record salmon returns for Fraser River run
What a difference a year makes. Last year at this time, there was a collective gnashing of teeth as the Fraser River Sockeye run collapsed with no explanation. Blame was put on everything from warmer ocean waters to sea lice from salmon farms along the coast. This year, we have the best runs in a century and the commercial fishers are bringing in fully loaded boats for the first time in years.
