Ontario Breaks Wind Record as Canadian Industry Flourishes

Earlier this week Ontario, Canada set a new provincial record for hourly electricity output from wind power.

At 9:00 PM EST, 1,056-megawatts of electricity were generated from Ontario-based wind turbines. For the day, wind power provided 5% of the Province's entire electricity supply.

The new hourly-power record speaks the growth of Ontario's clean energy sector. Since implementing its Green Energy Act last year, Ontario has seen the development of renewable energy projects increase exponentially. Earlier this month Ontario opened the world's second largest photovoltaic solar plant.
