Anyone else have DEregulated natural gas (or elec)?

They dereg'd natural gas in GA about 10 years ago or so.

Here's my latest bill. Now mind you, I have gas hot water (tankless), gas dryer and gas stove/oven. And it's just me.

Gas Charge: 7.69
Customer Service Fee: 5.95
Atlanta Gas Light Pass Through Charges: 14.69
Tax 1.97

TOTAL BILL $30.30, of which less than $8 is GAS.

Guess who led the charge on this deregulation. Yep, the GOPers in the legislature.

I have called and talked to people in the leg and it's just too bad. 'You can't unring that bell.'

Another consumer-friendly way to rip off customers.

Oh, yes, and if you lock in a rate and then cancel and move to another provider, there are early termination fees. The cell phone industry taught them well.

At this point, I'm venting. There's nothing that can be done.

1. There is one thing I will say in favor of dereg

I would never have gotten the opportunity to use anything but coal and gas generated electricity. Because of dereg here, I've been on wind energy for almost ten years.

Your add-on fees are just ridiculous.
