"The Compromise" puts EV charging station tax credit on the chopping block

"Last year, Plug In America, along with plug-in vehicle and EV infrastructure manufacturers from coast to coast worked with members of the House and Senate to get a critical plug-in vehicle infrastructure tax credit into the stimulus bill. These EV tax credits of 50% up to $2,000 for individuals, and 50% up to $50,000 for businesses have led to the beginning of early deployment of EV charging infrastructure all across the United States.

But the infrastructure tax credit is set to expire on 12/31/2010 unless we act now!

Just as plug-in cars are about to get on the road is absolutely the wrong time to end these tax credits.

We were initially successful in advocating an extension in the proposed 2010 tax extenders legislation. But now our efforts are threatened - we hear that the tax credit extension for EV infrastructure may be scaled back or eliminated from the tax extenders bill. This credit should be extended at the same level as in the stimulus for at least another three years."

Members of our Congress about anything.

In the not so recent past I did call and fax and email, but than came the laughter of the intern when I called and said we needed public option.

When I called about a year ago to protest the 169 Billion bucks allocated by Congress for the two unending wars.

When I called and asked why the dispersant was being sprayed continually.

I have given up. Praying is probably more effective.

Or maybe not. But if there is a Goddess, at least she is not laughing at me.

“The Money Party, a small group of enterprises and individuals who have most of the money in this country. They use that money to make more money. Controlling who gets elected to public office is the key to more money for them and less for us.

It is not about Republicans versus Democrats. The Money Party is an equal opportunity employer. They have no permanent friends or enemies, just permanent interests. Democrats are as welcome as Republicans to this party. It’s all good when you’re on the take and the take is legal. Michael Collins <aka "autorank> Sept 30, 2007

3. And I cling to the illusion that it might do some good
only because the alternative is doing nothing (or praying, which IMO is pretty much the same thing).

I actually had a remarkable experience with my rep a few days ago when calling to complain about the Compromise...the intern asked me why I felt the way I did, where I thought tax cuts should kick in (if at all), and my personal info.

Maybe he was just bored.

Senator Feinstein's office has been known to have a recorded message telling us that we can press one if we are someone representing a Corporation. If we are just a constituent, we get put on hold, like for ever.

Boxer is much better than that. But a lot of times, the interns don't seem to know what is being voted on. (Interns are often the precious offspring of the Elite, and why the heck should they care about something like a Health Care bill being passed in the Senate? They will always have insurance.)

Mike Thompson is a Blue Dog in the house, and his interns are disinterested for the most part.

I really miss Lynn Woolsey.
