Environmental Activists Launch Campaign Against Exxon

Exxon is no stranger to controversy. In recent weeks, Exxon has been tied to attempts by the current administration to cast doubts on Global Warming and previous to that, lobbying for oil drilling in the Artic National Wildlife Refuge. Now environmental activist groups are targeting ExxonMobil in a campaign asking consumers and investors to boycott ExxonMobil.

A dozen environmental and liberal-advocacy groups have launched a protest campaign against ExxonMobil Corp. to object to the oil giant’s efforts to expand drilling in Alaska and to cast doubt on the science of global warming.

The groups held a series of news conferences and launched a Web site to ask consumers and investors to boycott ExxonMobil, the world’s largest publicly traded oil company.

The groups, which include the Sierra Club, Greenpeace and MoveOn.org, said Exxon put profits ahead of a clean environment.

I've been boycotting them since the Valdez incident. Even come close to running out of gas on the road a couple times because of my boycott, but my principles are worth the extra effort. :)
