Republican New Deal Cuts Cleantech to the Bone
It comes as no surprise that the newly elected Republican majority in the House wants to cut spending to balance the budget.

Nor is it any surprise that, as Republicans, they seem to be targeting the cleantech sector, yet leaving budgets for the military (more than $725 billion for 2011, the largest ever) and Homeland Security (more than $50 billion in 2010) intact.

They’re calling their plan the Spending Reduction Act of 2011. By any name, it’s a reactionary gambit that could put this nation’s clean energy economy back a half-century, curtail all and any clean energy jobs, and maintain America's dependence on fossil fuels.

1. Let them just go ahead and get all their crazy notions....
....out in public. Then there will be no doubt the kind of things they stand for. They'll never pass, but they will be on record.

4. This is politically foolish because the public loves renewable energy
