Hatchery Worker Files Health Suit At Site Where Two-Headed Fish Embryos Discovered - AU.com
A WORKER at the Queensland hatchery where bizarre double-headed fish embryos were discovered has lodged an official report of serious human health problems linked to agricultural chemicals.

Cindy Medway lodged the adverse experience report with the national regulator, the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicine Authority, two years after a possible cancer cluster emerged at the Sunland Hatchery, near Noosa. "I lodged the report because nothing was being done," Medway says. "Our repeated requests for information about what protective gear we should wear and health information have been ignored, buck-passed and ignored again."

"We also want help in changing the legislation to require farmers to notify all neighbours of when they intend to spray, and what."

Along with hatchery owner Gwen Gilson, Gilson's son and other staff, Medway suspects agricultural chemicals sprayed on a nearby macadamia plantation are poisoning them, as well as the animals and fish at the hatchery.

1. Growing up in Iowa I remember seeing two headed calves and other
deformed animals. Iowa farmers also have their cancer clusters. The deformed animals are quietly disposed of and no one ever knows except the farmer and his daughter who was just curious enough to go look.

2. The sad thing is: this is a hatchery! Who's going to eat those fish?
And what is that going to do to them?
