Monsato's New Biofuel Investment
Monsanto (NYSE: MON) has announced that it will be investing in Sapphire Energy, a company pioneering research and development in algae biofuel in an emerging sector called "Green Crude Production."

Unlike other forms of biofuel that use potable water and are dependent on farmland and food stock, Sapphire’s products use C02 to materialize. As well, Green Crude can be refined to produce gasoline, diesel and jet fuel and are low carbon and renewable; a stark contrast from the development and production of fossil fuels.
