1. Cowardly, anti-nuke panic mongers.
:sarcasm:

2. For what it's worth, you'll notice the vast majority are small countries

Germany is the standout. Switzerland and Finland are also interesting. But I'm not ready to panic yet.

3. The US embassy is virtually empty and State has given any US passport transport out.
This is so fucked up.

4. I'm not sure what you mean
There's no real way I can verify the number of embassy staff, but the embassy's latest advisories posted on its web site advise Americans living in the 30-mile/50-kilometer exclusion zone to evacuate or stay indoors. Transportation was (maybe still is) arranged to other destinations elsewhere in East Asia, after which Americans must make their own travel plans. Americans who wish to depart Japan this way must agree to reimburse the US government at a later date.

5. I'm just relaying a conversation from on scene,
, you can make of it what you will. But if you look at the OP and if you were watching the news the other day when they were clearly trying to get people out of the country her observations are consistent.

Do you always extrapolate so much from government press releases to reality on the ground?

6. I am "on the ground"
I'm in Tokyo right now. I see "reality" all around me. I have been watching the news. I don't see any observations in the OP, just information about mostly small countries that are closing up shop in Tokyo for a while.
