Nuclear whistleblowers: Stop lying about Fukushima
http://www.examiner.com/human-rights-in-national/nuclear-whistleblowers-stop-lying-about-fukushima

Urging the public to recognize the massive government cover-up of Japan's Fukushima nuclear catastrophe, including the seriously damaged Reactor #3 with the most deadly plutonium mix fuel, nuclear whistleblower organizations Beyond Nuclear and Friends of the Earth warned this week that the human toll from Japan's Fukushima nuclear event could be comparable to or potentially greater than that of Chernobyl. Independent nuclear specialists are warning that long-term risk of radiation due to internal exposure will be worse due to present lies about and the cover-up of the catastrophe, being used to protect the nuclear energy industry.

Among nuclear truth advocates presenting information Friday about the health impact of the Fukushima nuclear catastrophe was Cindy Folkers, a radiation and health specialist at Beyond Nuclear, Erich Pica, president of Friends of the Earth, and Dr. Alexey Yablokov, co-author of "Chernobyl: Consequences of the Catastrophe for People and the Environment" and member of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

They warned that consequences of the Fukushima nuclear accident in Japan could be comparable to or potentially greater than health and environmental consequences of the Chernobyl reactor explosion on April 26, 1986 in Ukraine.

"We cannot just take what they say and repeat it without a more complete picture," Ms. Folkers stated at the Washington DC press conference.

1. Multiple reactor catastrophe!
>> Dr. Yablokov said Friday:

"We are seeing something that has never happened... a multiple reactor catastrophe including one using plutonium fuel as well as spent fuel pool accidents, all happening within 200 kilometers of a metropolis of 30 million people. Because the area is far more densely populated than around Chernobyl, the human toll could eventually be far worse in Japan."

:kick: & recommend.

8. They ALL have plutonium!!
"We are seeing something that has never happened... a multiple reactor catastrophe including one using plutonium fuel as well as spent fuel pool accidents,
====================================

This is more of the nonsense we get from the screwed up reporting in the media.

Yes - reactor #3 was fueled with MOX which is recycled plutonium.

Note the word "recycled". Where do you think the plutonium came from before it
was "recycled"?

It came from reactors fueled with uranium. Reactors, even those fueled with only
uranium and without any MOX create plutonium in situ. In fact, about
40% to 45% of the energy that comes from a uranium fueled reactor comes from
burning plutonium.

ALL of those reactors have plutonium in them.

3. Yablokov noted that people stop being careful very quickly
and that in spite of warnings go back to drinking contaminated milk, etc.

I'm guessing this will happen in Japan as well.

7. Sure we have. It's called coal.
Which kills more people in a month than nuclear power has in all history, and which is actively working to make the planet uninhabitable.

6. When the melted nuclear fuel rod lava spills out on the beaches
steaming as it hits the water, and gets on tee-vee, that is when the real evacuations will happen.
