Hydropower industry converges on Nation's Capital
The hydropower industry employs up to 300,000 workers. Expanding hydro generating capacity by 60,000 megawatts could add 1.4 million cumulative jobs to the U.S. economy by 2025, one recent study has found.

The conference will focus on a range of projects to expand hydro, from modernizing existing facilities, to adding generating equipment to the nation’s existing dams, to pumped storage and innovative new marine and hydrokinetic technologies. The event will emphasize hydropower’s integral role in meeting national clean energy goals.

1. I like hydro. But it is not as if it is completely clean energy. When they flood
the land to make a dam a lot of gasses are released from rotting vegetation. Still I think it is much better than coal.
