IceBridge Overflies Fastest-Moving Glacier (large photo)

The calving front of the Jakobshavn glacier was captured by a digital SLR camera looking down through a window in the belly of the aircraft.

Operation IceBridge, now in its third year, makes annual campaigns in the Arctic and Antarctic where science flights monitor glaciers, ice sheets and sea ice.
