More new solar electric systems were installed than ever before in Minnesota in 2010, according to Minnesota Department of Commerce’s Office of Energy Security.

The Minnesota Utility Solar Integration Rankings showed a record 248 new solar photovoltaic systems were installed in Minnesota in 2010. The previous record set in 2009 was 76 installations.
“Our department is working hard to ensure that as one of the fastest growing forms of clean energy, solar will be part of Minnesota’s energy mix into the future,” said Mike Rothman, commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Commerce.
