Yolo drafts measure to protect ag lands from solar projects
It's a battle of deities in Yolo County this summer, sun against earth.

The city of Davis and some notable developers say they want to build solar energy projects on hundreds of acres near Interstate 80 and the Yolo Causeway.

But the city's tentative plan and a separate proposal from developers Angelo K. Tsakopoulos and Phil Angelides would mean planting rows of metal and concrete solar panels on prime farm soil, a resource that leaders in fertile Yolo have long held sacred.

County Supervisor Mike McGowan describes it as a clash of Yolo gods.

1. This shows that solar isn't so green.
Now if we could get something done about corn for ethanol in prime crop land.
