"Turn up the Heat," A Song about the Climate Crisis by RP

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F_pKeqPV_uw

As I type this, Kentucky (my home state) is under a heat advisory; over 1,000 activists and counting have been arrested protesting the Keystone XL pipeline; and our planet is still undergoing its sixth and largest mass extinction in its history. I think everyone here can agree on the fact that climate change poses one of the biggest threats to life on this planet, and that our inaction is damning future generations to an uncertain existence.

In your opinion, what are some of the most efficacious environmental organizations?

Thank you in advance,
RP

2. Appalachian Region
Ty,

Are you from anywhere near southern Appalachia, i.e. KY? If so, let me know, as I would love to be kept up to date with any planned actions, etc.

Ryan

3. I grow up near there but
but now I'm in Arlington VA. Since I'm in the DC beltway I go to rallies for environmental things, and I will definitely be going to any rallies about mountaintop removal, it makes me so sick what they do.. and of course they make sure not to flatten the mountains that tourists will see when they're driving.
Last year I heard of a mountaintop removal rally they had in Charlotte, but it was just from a flyer I got at a march up here.

I know there are groups down there to get into and help with, you'll find them I bet!

4. I see
I see. I from Louisville, but my Dad's side of the family is from Southeastern KY, specifically the town of Jackson in Breathitt County. I was down there two summers ago and viewed a strip mining site, one that had been "reclaimed." It was very shameful.
