No ethanol in Chicago area?
I live in Iowa and use 89 octane that has ethanol in it. It is cheaper than the lower grade because of the ethanol. I am not talking about E85. It is hard to find stations that sells E85 here in Iowa, but there are more and more showing up.

I went to Chicago this weekend and in the western suburbs I got gas and they didn't have ethanol. I was surprised. They grow corn in Illinois, so I just assumed that they'd have ethanol like we do in Iowa.

Do other parts of the country have ethanol or is it an Iowa and other farm state thing?

3. Naperville or Wheaton
Not sure exactly, kind of hard to tell where one 'burb ends and some more sprawl starts.

In Iowa there are stickers that say Ethanol and has a picture of a corn stalk and that says supporting Iowa. I didn't see anything like that at the pump, but it could have had ethanol in it.

I wanted to ask about gasohol about a week ago when a story ran on local news about gasohol in Charlotte. I never even heard of E85 or knew that some cars were designed to burn 85% alcohol fuel. They said it was twenty cents cheaper when gas the most common price was at $3 a gallon. The 10% alcohol was said to be the same price as pure gasoline.

They said that a company out of Shelby, NC had five stations and was expecting to reach 50.
