CIA Recruiting Oil & Gas Analysts
Edited on Sun Oct-09-05 11:00 AM by MountainLaurel
From the business section in today's WashPost:

CIA Is Recruiting Oil & Gas Analysts

The CIA is looking for applicants with strong analytical skills who have three to five years experience in the oil and gas field and a minimum of a bachelor's degree, to follow world oil and gas issues of strategic interest to the United States. Your work will directly support the formulation and execution of U.S. foreign policy.

For more information and to apply, please refer to the Economic Analyst position under the Analytical Positions career path at www.cia.gov.

I know that these sort of positions are typical in the Agency, but seeing it spelled out in black and white, just as we prepare to invade a couple more oil-producing countries, makes me :scared:.

2. Link please
This could be in LBN, and is worthy of a discussion because of the implications of
"Confessions of an Economic Hit Man" if it was in the business section try posting it there.

6. This is fucking gold!
Seeing this has prompted my first post on DU.
I will try to get a hold of the WaPo with that ad and show it to some people who still have their head up their ass-my dad, for example believes that there is NO good information on the internet-it has to be in print-this si the smoking gun. Someone should notify Mike Ruppert too-to his readers(not that I beleive everything he says) it is more confirmation.

7. Posters if you want them.
G'day mates,
I'm new to the forum... and am pleasantly surprised that there is already a great deal of peak oil awareness in this forum!

Is there much discussion other than in this Energy Forum part of DU?

IE: Do peakniks only come in here, or do you also discuss peak oil under other topics, such as who to vote for, economics, etc?

I have a website with free peak oil posters you can download in USA format and put up.

It's also got a few good quotes on the home page www.eclispenow.org — such as the Deputy Prime Minister of Australia admitting peak oil was nearly here, our famous celebrity scientist Dr Karl states we are on the peak of production, and a Labor Politician running a peak oil taskforce for the Queensland government is interviewed by Global Public Media (one of the first taskforces in the world, I understand).

Your Roscoe Bartlett is doing a great job raising awareness, but has he got other politicians into running a taskforce yet? ;-)

You can download the entire Hirsch report from my home page if you want... or one of his smaller summaries.

Cheers,
See ya round like a rissole

8. Peak oil is discussed in other forums.
Actually more than here I think.
Has been a common topic for years.
Economy, Editorials, LBN, Foreign Affairs, and the GD forums
will see it come up from time to time. There may be others.

Welcome to DU. :hi:
