New Landmark Solar Powered Redevelopment Ready for Occupancy
http://www.solarbuzz.com/News/NewsNAPR607.htm

Sonoma Mountain Village, Codding Investment’s innovative new landmark redevelopment, will soon be ready for occupancy by residents and is presently available for lease to businesses.

The business center within this comprehensive 200-acre village, located on the former Agilent Technologies campus near Sonoma State University, will be completely powered by solar electricity, thanks to Codding’s use of 1.14 Megawatt solar array, furnished by PowerLight. Corporation.

<snip>

Sonoma Mountain Village, located in the picturesque wine country north of San Francisco, successfully blends high-tech jobs, residential properties, and attractive retail and dining destinations into one navigable pedestrian-oriented neighborhood. There will be 2,000 residential units in the Village; new residents will be drawn to this unique new neighborhood by its high-tech industry jobs and environmentally conscious sensibilities.

<snip>

Target clients for Sonoma Mountain Village will come from such fields as alternative energy, medical device research, high-tech, natural products and financial services. Codding Investments offers a substantial amount of affordable residential properties at Sonoma Mountain Village, starting at under $300,000 – a rare commodity in Sonoma County. Codding Investment’s approach has drawn broad support from California government officials, Sonoma State University, and other regional stakeholders.

2. Very nice.
Small, but nice. Good luck to them.

Herein lies the problem: Solar is on such a small scale that individual premesis switching to it qualify as news-worthy. If we assume 5,000 people will live here, it could almost house the world's population growth for the next half hour. Or if you prefer, nearly a day's worth of US population growth - so if they get another 'village' finished by this time tomorrow, we're in with a chance. ;)

Deployment of future PV systems will soon become "un-newsworthy" in California...
