January 2006 Warmest January In Cincinnati For Over A Century
Not even centenarians can remember a January as warm as this one. The spring-like month ends today as the warmest in more than 100 years.

Fifteen days topped 50 degrees - and three reached or surpassed 60, including a record-breaking 64 degrees on Jan. 2.

Those daytime highs and mild lows contributed to the warmest average January temperature - 41.8 degrees - in more than 100 years, according to the National Weather Service. That's about 12 degrees above normal.

The warmest January on record was 1880, with an average temperature of 48.7 degrees. The service's Climate Prediction Center projects the spring-like weather will continue for Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky through February.

1. Warmest on Record here in northeast WI
January 2006 is one for the record books in Oshkosh — a month when warmth ruled and rain replaced snow.

Unseasonably mild temperatures will make the month the warmest January in Oshkosh since 1893. Through Monday, Oshkosh had an average daily temperature of 30.8 this month, according to the Midwestern Regional Climate Center, Champaign, Ill. That breaks the old mark of 28.1 in 1933.
