Toyota On Track For Record Annual Profit Of One Trillion Yen
"Toyota Motor Corp. said Thursday its group net profit in the October-December quarter jumped 59.7 percent from a year earlier to 286.4 billion yen due to brisk global sales and cost-cutting efforts.
The nation's largest automaker is on course to become in March the first Japanese company to generate an annual group net profit of 1 trillion yen.

EDIT

Domestic sales stood at 553,867 units, up 1.7 percent, thanks to the success of new hybrid cars Prius and Sienta, while overseas sales came to 1.14 million units, up 14.7 percent.

The popularity of the Siena minivan and Lexus RX330 luxury sports utility vehicle helped push sales in the United States to 561,628 vehicles, up 5.2 percent. Sales in Europe grew 28.4 percent to 218,029 vehicles due to the success of the new Avensis model."
