Sweden Hits Renewable Energy Targets Again - 10 Of 150 T-Watt Hours
Sweden has met targets for energy production from renewable sources for the second consecutive year, the country's energy agency said on Thursday.
"Sweden fulfilled 99.9 percent of its quota for the April 2005 to March 2006 period", Roger Oestberg, spokesman for the energy agency, told AFP.

In accordance with European Union directives, the country has a target of producing one fifteenth of its electricity from renewable sources such as water, biogas, wind and solar power by 2010, Oestberg said.

The target represents 10 terrawatt hours per year of Sweden's current 150 terrawatt hours, Oestberg added.
