Coal mining in W Virginia??

Its called mountain topping and its an agly affair that going on in West Virginia.. Tens of thousands of acres have been lost to mountaintop removal mining and sludge dams in Coal River.

I wonder just how bad it is in WV to allow this to go on??

All this bullshit talk about ethanol being the savior is just that. Ethanol will only take up 25% of our needs at maximum production, the rest has to be made up somewhere at the current rate. And it's only going to get worse.

When you have the Air force looking into converting coal into synthetic fuel for jet fighters, I don't see the ending of mountain topping anytime soon. Considering that a fighter uses 28 gallons a minute when it has it's after burners on.

Now that is something to think about, huh?
