TEHRAN, May 19 (MNA) -– Twenty electricity generating wind turbines are currently operational at Dizbad Wind Power Plant located near Neishabur.

In addition to the existing electricity generating wind turbines, 23 more electricity producing units are also expected to be installed in the region and become operational in the current year - Iranian year ends March 20 - the project manager said.

<snip>

Over 60 percent of the equipments and parts used in the wind turbines have been produced by the Iranian experts in Isfahan, Karaj, Yazd, Tehran and Mashhad, the project contractor explained.

The 28.4-mega watt turbines are slated to generate 112,000 megawatts of electricity per hour and are expected to supply the annual electricity requirements of 78,000 home subscribers in this northeastern part of the country.

edit: are we going to bomb these too??? (don't think so...)

4. Wow -- good news but awful translation.

First clue is "the 28.4 megawatt turbine" As far as I know, that would be about ten times bigger than the current state of the art in large turbines.

5. Try "28 Four-megawatt turbines"
Edited on Tue May-23-06 11:05 PM by Pigwidgeon
28 x 4 = 112

And we're still only off by a factor of 1000. Perhaps a few zeroes were deleted.

They're still big turbines.
