BMW Will Sell
Diesel Cars in US

LONDON, July 19--German premium carmaker BMW intends to start selling diesel-powered cars in the United States within two years, using a urea-based additive to meet emissions standards, the Financial Times reported on Wednesday.
“Urea will take another two years but then diesel is really clean and can be sold in all 50 states,“ the paper quoted BMW sales and marketing head Michael Ganal as saying at the British International Motor Show.
“The US is more open to diesel than two or three years ago.“..cont'd

1. A diesel BMW? I hope they're better than the one a friend had.
BMW provided the diesel engines for the Lincoln Continental Mark VII. I seem to remember that car was a lot of trouble, most of it related to the engine. And diesels are so noisy if they aren't kept perfectly tuned, and even then some are very annoying.
