CA Heatwave Claims First Celebrity Victim - Lindsay Lohan Hospitalized!!
California's record-breaking heat wave claimed a movie star victim when Lindsay Lohan was forced to check into a hospital after becoming dehydrated on the set of her newest film, a celebrity website said Wednesday.

Lohan, 20, "got overheated and dehydrated" Tuesday while on the set of "Georgia Rule" and had to be taken to a hospital for treatment, her agent Leslie Sloane-Zelnick told TMZ.com.

The movie was being filmed in temperatures around 40 degrees C (104 degrees F).

Sloane-Zelnick said Lohan, who climbed to fame in 1998's "The Parent Trap" remake and earned rave reviews for "Freaky Friday" in 2003, was "totally fine" Wednesday after receiving an injection at the hospital and resting.

2. Heatstroke isn't a joke. Have it happen to you, and you won't think
it's very funny.

5. I'm not trying to make fun of heatstroke...
but of the absurd amount of attention that's paid to a petulant brat like Lindsay Lohan.

6. I've had one and
this is still a fish story. An "injection" (for heatstroke?)and she's fine? Puleeze. More likely a B-12 shot + oxygen fix for the 'bad olive' she got at some bar last nught.

16. Whoop de doo
She has asthma yet she manages to smoke. I can feel NO sympathy for this little tramp.

My son has nearly died of asthma several times, he avoids cigarettes and smokers COMPLETELY.

4. Kind of says it all, doesn't it?
The Amazon's turning into a desert, the oceanic clathrates are breaking down, hundreds people have died from the heat, and somehow Lindsay Lohan's hangover is still important enough to make the front page - Except now it's enviromental news.

Sigh.

10. Still one wonders if Hatrack is angling for a gratuitious picture of her.
He often muses that rather than discuss reality, he would prefer to discuss what is really important, celebrities.

11. OK, here's a gratuitous picture of her...

Rates alongside the contents of of my cat's litter tray (especially for brains), but that's only my opinion.

So, moving swiftly on...

12. Oh my god. She has an extra foot growing out of her back.
I wonder if you pull the pin out of her navel if the balloons deflate. If the balloons are filled with carbon dioxide, one wonders how much could be sequestered in this way.

...for making me choke. On that note, I think I'll go to sleep...

Edit: up to 400 kg each, if Lolo Ferrari is anything to go by:

No fun trying to get in a small lift, though. And it shortens the lifespan a bit.

Not sure about the release pin, I'll ask around.

OK, really going to sleep now.

14. You know, I find that hard to believe...
Edited on Thu Jul-27-06 11:36 AM by Javaman
having worked out there myself and having had the opportunity to work with a few famous people, the one thing I noticed is: they aren't treated like the average person. Meaning, they are very pampered.

We the crew would be working consistently in 100+ temps (in death valley at 120+)and no where to be seen was the star until the director was ready. That star was in their trailer keeping cool. And they are in there for three reasons, 1) they are a star 2) you don't want a sweaty person on film unless the scene calls for it otherwise their make up runs and 3) the studios have a lot of money invested in the production, let alone the star, they can't afford to have the production go down for a day.

Why she was dehydrated I can only guess but I can almost assure you, it had nothing to do with her being out in the heat for an extended period of time.

Perhaps she was our drinking the night before, didn't have enough water in her system and passed out.

Because it's so unheard of for stars to drink or party late into the night. :sarcasm:

Hollywood Big Blasts Lohan
Movie boss warns actress over "so called" exhaustion, heavy partying
JULY 28--Lindsay Lohan's hard-partying antics and recent bout of "heat exhaustion" has left one Hollywood big shot steamed, The Smoking Gun has learned. In a blistering July 26 letter to the 20-year-old actress, James G. Robinson, who heads the L.A. firm producing Lohan's current movie, calls her recent erratic behavior "discourteous, irresponsible and unprofessional." Robinson, the 70-year-old chief executive of Morgan Creek Productions, writes that Lohan has "acted like a spoiled child and in doing so have alienated many of your co-workers and endangered the quality" of "Georgia Rule," a movie now being filmed and which stars Lohan, Jane Fonda, and Felicity Huffman. A copy of Robinson's letter--which was delivered to Lohan at the Chateau Marmont hotel--can be found below
