2. Just because environmental organizations haven't yet felt
that stinging sensation between the shoulder blades most Democrats have experienced when they'd been assured that Lieberman was behind them 100%, that doesn't mean they won't.

3. If it was simply about individual votes, then Lieberman...
but it's not. It's about who chairs the committees, it's about who decides which bills go forward and which bills die, it's about a Democratic majority in the Senate.

Yeah, I know Lieberman has claimed he will go Dem if he wins, does anyone really believe him at this point?

As an individual Lamont may not be as strong on environmental issues as Lieberman, but as part of a Democratic majority in the Senate and all that means? I'll take Lamont, thank you very much.

4. The war in Iraq isn't particularly pretty from an environmental standpoint
War is always an environmental disaster. Always. It's a human disaster as well, and a moral disaster, but it is always an environmental disaster as well. Too often we ignore that.

That in itself is enough.

Then there's that little matter of the beaches in Lebanon.

Oh. And kissing the chief global climate change denier on the planet.

Give me a break.

5. From your link: "Lieberman's support for the 2005 energy bill"
Edited on Sat Sep-02-06 01:01 AM by bananas
Lamont suggests on his campaign website that he would be a stronger green champion than his opponent, and criticizes Lieberman's support for the 2005 energy bill, "which features billions in subsidies to big oil and does little for conservation and energy efficiency." Lamont also claims he is serious about fighting global warming "in the arenas that really matter -- the courts and the federal government."
