"When is the predicted cataclysm?''
Any guesses on which Supreme Court Justice asked that moronic question at this morning's opening arguments in the case Massachusetts v. Environmental Protection Agency, 05-1120?

2. Ding, ding, ding. We have a winner!!
However, the rest of the usual suspects were equally stupid.

The argument by those pushing for EPA action on vehicle emissions might or might not be valid, but it "assumes everything else is going to remain constant,'' Roberts observed....But Justice Samuel Alito, who with Roberts seemed most skeptical of the states' position, said that even in the best of circumstances, the reduction in greenhouse gases would be relatively small.

4. Well, not EVERYBODY is a moron.
Entergy said it has to be able to make plans 25 years in advance and that the EPA's current rules will not "stand the test of time.''

There are power companies saying they KNOW the current status will not hold, and need to know what standards they should prepare for - otherwise they stand to lose millions.

somebody's getting a clue.
