U.S. Retail Gas Prices Continue to Rise
U.S. retail gas prices continue to go up during holiday season,
rising 4 cents per gallon


CAMARILLO, Calif., Dec. 3, 2006

(AP) Gas prices continued to rise during the holiday shopping season.
Gas prices rose about 4 cents per gallon nationwide compared to two
weeks ago, industry analyst Trilby Lundberg said Sunday.

The national average for self-serve regular was $2.27 per gallon on Dec. 1,
according to Lundberg's latest survey of 7,000 gas stations across the
country.

The national average for mid-grade was $2.38, while premium was $2.48
per gallon.

The lowest average price in the nation for self-serve regular was in Tulsa,
where a gallon cost $2.09. The highest average price in the nation for
self-serve regular was Honolulu at $2.74.

1. Isn't that amazing that prices "just happen" to increase after the election??
I'm sure it is just a coincidence and that oil companies would never try to influence voters.

2. Predicted by almost everyone on DU weeks before the election
Although gas is still $2.02 at my local Costco. Denver gas is never cheaper than Tulsa, is Costco taking a hit for their customers?

5. A few more words should be added to that headline
"To the surprise of absolutely nobody". It's cold here in parts of America and the new Congress is supposedly going to take away the oil companies excess profits, so yeah, prices are being jacked up. They'll get it while they can.
