1. this is a great teacher or coworker gift.
teachers get so much goofy stuff. i've made donations to heifer in the name of many hard to buy for people. especially for people who don't need more stuff.

2. A Last X-Mas Present to a Dying Uncle
I made a gift to Heifer International as a final gift to a dying uncle. My uncle had done quite well in life and his widow and children are well set. I didn't see the point in giving him a book or golf balls. Since my uncle was a genuine, practicing Christian, I thought that he'd appreciate a gift that kept on giving.

I also recommend Heifer International as a gift to the living, especially for those who feel that they already have a surfeit of stuff.

3. Agreed
Nice pictures too.

Back in September half a dozen of us put together a benefit concert for Heifer International at a church in the Boston area. We called it "Goatstock." Like the (original) Woodstock symbol was a dove perched on a guitar headstock with an olive branch in its mouth, we drew up our own logo with a goat on there instead, chewing on a frond.

4. This is a wonderful gift in the true 'spirit of Christmas'
I can't believe I have never heard of this great organization before. Talk about the gift that keeps on giving. Goodbye, Barnes & Noble and the mall, hello Heifer!

Thanks for the tip, pinto!
