Indonesia may cancel huge gas pipe project
And so it begins.. Expect to more of these announcements in our collective lifetimes as oil exporting countries realize that oil is more important to their domestic society than to export it!!

Indonesia, the world's largest gas exporter, has mostly sold liquefied natural gas to foreign buyers but recently adopted a policy to allow bigger share of domestic consumption to deal with the energy crisis.

"We choose to develop domestic industries by cutting (gas) export," he said.

2. IOW, "We don't have enough left to export!"
Their conventional oil peaked in either 2003 or 2004 (can't remember which) and if the bulk of their gas is associated, then that's the simple explanation.
