When celebs claim 'carbon credits' and other forms of environmental preaching, the first thing TO do is verify if they are walkin' their talk; doing as they say they want us to do.

I do. Some of them don't.

but doesn't Al Gore do a whole lot more to become carbon-neutral than just purchasing credits?

Not sure how fair it is to lump him in with those who do zippo to reduce their pollution other than purchasing credits.

Which is how he can afford the big energy bills and SUVs and everything else. Though, last I heard, he's working on converting to solar... but with his clout it's amazing he's not convincing manufacturers to lower the cost of solar panels.

I know the right wing goes overboard, claiming Gore's guts for being two-faced. But nobody should be treatin' the guy like a deity either. http://www.badapple.biz - almost a pet topic of mine, but that website covers some of Apple's eco-unfriendly acts. And Gore has been on their board since 2003. Their given timeline is interesting. But given it took consumer protests rather than Gore's clout to have Apple change its ways, the phrase "the truth is in the middle" has more merit than ever.
