Farmer Richard Herbert hoped building a wind farm would save him from ruin.

This week he was found dead in a ditch...after a vicious campaign of vandalism, menacing threats and a poison pen letter that ended 'Sleep Well'

The place is known as The Big Sky. It's not hard to see why.

The horizons sink low, exposing a vaulting expanse of mushroom-grey streaked with clouds, and so vast it seems to want to swallow the ground.
