Environmental groups who kill trees to send me fundraising material are driving me nuts! |
|
I sent money to one of the groups recently (NRDC) and now I get mail nearly every day from some group or other asking for money, and of course enclosing my free address labels or note cards.
Hey, I know they need to fundraise but it is really making me crazy- the amount of waste they are creating doing it is just too much.
And besides, I'm on the email lists of most of these groups anyway, and have contributed on-line.
Anyone know how to get off their snail mail lists?

1. The ones who REALLY kill trees are those who torch buildings |
|
Which only get rebuilt, thus doubling the amount of wood used in their construction.

This is a good point!
The environmental groups should be using postcards where people can choose between "stop sending me solicitations," "email correspondence only - not snail mail" and "you can send me snail mail two more times."
Anything above that is a waste of paper, is not in the spirit of the environment, and is overkill.
This sort of thing is one of the reasons that I contribute to very few NGO's, and thus am on very few mailing lists. I do respect the Nature Conservancy...don't know if they do a lot of these direct mailings or not...
