G8 will not agree numerical emissions target-Blair

HEILIGENDAMM, Germany, June 7 (Reuters) - G8 leaders are likely
to agree this week to make "substantial" cuts in greenhouse gas
emissions but will not fix a numerical target, British Prime
Minister Tony Blair said on Thursday.

"I think it's possible that we leave this summit with a commitment
on the part of everyone to a subsantial reduction in greenhouse
gas emissions by 2050 as a global target," Blair told reporters after
a meeting with U.S. President George W. Bush.

But he said leaders would not agree a numerical target for cutting
emissions. G8 president Germany has been calling for the club to
set a goal of a 50 percent cut in emissions by 2050.

"This can't be negotiated at the G8, the detail of this," Blair said,
noting that big emerging powers like India and China needed to
brought into this process.

1. "Detail"?
> "This can't be negotiated at the G8, the detail of this," Blair said,

No "detail" needed, just a straight 50% as Germany is saying.

"I think I'll carry on sucking George's tiny dick and try to protect
him from anyone who actually cares about the planet."
