Mugabe shuts down UN famine relief offices - Zimbabwe
President Robert Mugabe's government has closed all United Nations field offices in rural Zimbabwe that are distributing famine relief to starving communities.

The move threatens to disrupt the world body's attempts to avert massive starvation and is seen as another bid by the Mugabe regime to use the distribution of food to compel rural communities to support the ruling Zanu-PF party.

The UN plans to bring in 350 000 tons of food for 5,5 million people this year in Zimbabwe, where agricultural production has all but collapsed.

1. didn't he just build
a retirement palace for himself? It will cost something like 9 million dollars, but half of Zimbabwe's people face starvation!!
