Remember, there was a lot of "chatter" going on before 9/11/2001 - and Bush & Co. ignored it.

Yep, thanks to the heightened security measures . . .

FROM WND'S JERUSALEM BUREAU
Israel: We were not warned of London attacks
Jewish state denies news reports of advanced notice

JERUSALEM -- In spite of multiple reports to the contrary, Israel did not receive advanced warning regarding today's terror attacks in London, an Israeli foreign ministry spokesman told WND.

"I can tell you unequivocally the reports are false. Israel, including our representatives in London, did not receive any prior notice of pending terror attacks," Mark Regev, senior spokesperson for Israel's Foreign Ministry, told WND. "The only alert we received was a call to our British embassy immediately following the first explosion. That call was routine, and was also placed to other foreign embassies in London."

8. Unclear referent
In my reading, Maple was referring to the bombers when s/he said "they." According to the newspaper article, it was the police, not the bombers, who warned the Israelis a few minutes before the blasts, and I believe the police are the "they" you are referring to.

That much said, what's with this internecine sniping? Dozens of people killed horribly, and it becomes an occasion for serving or eating crow?

Yuck.

Please treat others here as you wish to be treated.

Israeli Finance Minister Netanyahu Changed Plans Due To Warning
Israeli Embassy In State Of Emergency

POSTED: 7:16 am EDT July 7, 2005

JERUSALEM -- British police told the Israeli Embassy in London minutes before Thursday's explosions that they had received warnings of possible terror attacks in the city, a senior Israeli official said.

11. WorldNetDaily.com is not a source worthy of consideration
They are freepers and Bush's friends.

Sorry, I am always wary using AP as a source, but between those two, I have no problem choosing.

(This said, this is not an attack on Israel on my part. It was minutes before, so it is dubious that they could have done something. Simply I do not believe there was no chatter).

13. Good a source as elsewhere
Aaron Klein is WorldNetDaily's Jerusalem bureau chief, whose past interview subjects have included Yasser Arafat, Ehud Barak, Shlomo Ben Ami and leaders of the Taliban.

14. In that case, I can believe Drudge as well
or all these other right wing rags.

Sorry, I do not see why AP would lie.

16. They still have factual reports
whether your political bias likes them or not.

Instead of arguing with me you could check the Israeli embassy statement in London.

I didn't say AP lied, but when some event like this happens lots of stories come out that are later found to be wrong.

AP probably heard about the phone call and assumed it was beforehand rather than after.

Meantime it makes Israelis look bad for no reason...and jumps the gun on conclusions.

When something like this happens there are lots of reports. That doesn't mean they're correct.

15. We don't know
that 'al qaeda' was involved.

Just because some unknown group claims responsiblity doesn't mean they did it, they may just be opportunists.

So there might well have been 'no chatter'
