Homeland security money wasted in South Dakota
Edited on Sat Dec-18-04 11:38 AM by suegeo
So not only do the people out in the sticks get more money per person to spend on Homeland security, but the money they do get is pretty much wasted.

What a joke. Here's the story:

What security dollars buy: an idle Durango

Homeland grant pays for $26,000 SUV to battle terror - in Hamlin County

A new, white $26,000 Dodge Durango sits in a Hamlin County Highway Department shop waiting for terrorists.

Taxpayers paid for the sport-utility vehicle, which was purchased with a grant from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

But unless terrorists strike, the SUV can't be used, the sheriff was told.

"I was told I was not to be driving that vehicle unless it was responding to a terrorist attack," said Hamlin County Sheriff Dan Mack.

Can someone pretty please abolish that obscene boondoggle department? I never want to hear the word "homeland" again.

3. No it wasn't wasted
After getting rid of Tom Daschle, it will be very useful in keeping the voters content with their new republican overlords.

I mean thats what it was meant for, right?
