"Binge drinking" is an increasing problem with alcohol abuse costing the country around £20billion per year, according to a new Government report published today.
The study drinking defines binge drinking as consuming more than eight units of alcohol - the equivalent of four pints - in one sitting, and says the problem is uniquely British.
The Cabinet Office study found that employers lose £6.4 billion a year to hangovers and drink-related illness each year.
