I respect France's stance on Iraq - Straw
Contrast this with Perle and Frum. There seems to be some
signs that the Poodle and his minions have figured out that
being "friends" with Bush is a poorly paid position.

Jack Straw has made another move to heal the Anglo-French
divisions over the Iraqi invasion.

In a speech in Paris to mark the centenary of the entente
cordiale, the Foreign Secretary said he respected the stance the
French government took ahead of last year's conflict.

He argued that the division between London and Paris arose
from different views about how best to maintain the authority
of the United Nations.

He insisted, though, that the British Government was right to
have participated in the invasion - on the grounds that failing
to back up with force the UN's demands on Saddam Hussein to
detail his weapons programmes would have left international
law a "dead letter."
