Just read an interesting book on the 1994 Haitian Invasion |
It's called "Hideous Dream:A Soldier's Memoir of the US Invasion of Haiti" and it's written by Stan Goff. A fascinating look at military life, Haiti and a bit of a political primer, too. It's pretty pertinent to what's going on in Haiti right now as well. I'll include links to the book, some reviews, as well as a website that gives a no BS assessment at Haitian news and U.S. foreign policy there. http://www.haiti-progres.com/eng02-18.htmlhttp://www.softskull.com/detailedbook.php?isbn=1-887128-63-8http://www.leftturnbooks.com/7000-007.htmlhttp://www.spinelessbooks.com/bookviews/GoffS_HD.html

1. Stan Goff is a great human being |
He's seen it all first hand and walked away with his humanity in tact.
