Queen gets new tough anti-terror guard and all staff to be vetted after Mirror probe

THE Royal Family is to be heavily guarded in a huge security shake-up after the Daily Mirror infiltrated Buckingham Palace.

The Independent Security Commission, set up after Mirrorman Ryan Parry got a job as a footman, said the palaces should be so well protected it would be impossible for al-Qaeda or other terrorists to get anywhere near the Royal Family.

Special Branch officers, under a new wing of the Royal Protection Group, will check out all new staff, visit their families and chase up their school and university records and previous employers.

Job candidates will be asked to give their bank and credit details and will be quizzed about their lifestyle including whether they drink or take drugs. MI5 will be involved in background checks.

Why should we, 'citizens of the world', have to pay our hard earned money from slaving away in factories, sweat shops, McDonalds..., to pay for the security for the Power Elite who get themselves in trouble because they're a bunch of Cronies? I'd like to see worldwide figures on how much of our money is spent to protect the 'Political Power Elite'.

They are neither politicians or have any power and if people like the Mirror didn't feel the need to plant people under cover in the first place there would have been the need for this anyway would there ?

BTW foreign (mainly American) tourists spent £7 billion in the UK in 2002 alone. The Royals pay for themselves, and then some. They also pay taxes on income like everyone else.
