Sadly, Ma is still suckling - TW
By Yang Chun-hui

Sunday, Apr 25, 2004,Page 8

I feel sorry for Mayor Ma Ying-jeou (???) of Taipei over his handling of protests in front of the Presidential Office. Instead of carrying out his duty as chief executive officer of Taipei and ending this travesty organized by his party boss, Ma willingly danced according to the pan-blue alliance's choreography, underwritten by an agenda of achieving one's ends at all costs, even at the expense of creating social chaos and economic instability, or worst of all, risking the precious lives of Taiwanese people in an ethnic conflict.

Ma, although an intelligent executive with impeccable integrity, is acting muddleheaded and has lost his ability to deal with his conflict of interest. One sympathizes with his position as a "sandwiched man," yet one would also expect him to make the wise choice, pledging loyalty first to his city and second to his party.
