Has Rumsfeld committed treason? |
|
The way I see it, Either Bob Woodward is guilty of slander or Rumsfeld is a criminal. In Bob Woodward's book, “Plan of Attack,” he states that Rumsfeld mis-directed funds appropriated for Afghanistan to be used for the preparation of the Iraq invasion (about $700,000,000), in secret, without congressional approval. This is a federal crime. If it is true, Rumsfeld must go to prison, not only for clearly breaking the law, but by indirectly aiding the enemy. If this is true, if he took funds away from the "real war" against our "real enemies," he should be tried for treason. Bush's defense of Rumsfeld makes him an accomplice. It is time for congress to open an inquiry into the alleged criminal activity of Donald Rumsfeld.

It just flat tortures logic and law. No way would a prosecutor attempt to indict on that basis.
