N Korea denies entering South's waters
AFP , SEOUL

Pyongyang said yesterday a South Korean allegation that a North Korean patrol boat had intruded into its territorial waters was a "sheer lie" designed to provoke a military confrontation.

South Korea's defense ministry has said the North Korean vessel intruded into South Korean waters near Yeonpyeong Island at 07:40 GMT on Wednesday, ignoring warnings from a South Korean navy ship.

The vessel left shortly after a South Korean ship fired two rounds of cannon shots into the air, it said.

1. If it was in territorial waters they shoulda sunk it.
Then used sonar to prove it was in their waters.

2. Navy accused of covering up radio message from N.K.
The South Korean Navy received three radio messages from the North's navy Wednesday during a recent conflict in the West Sea, the Defense Ministry acknowledged yesterday in a reversal of an earlier statement.

The South Korean Navy fired warning shots at what it thought was a North Korean patrol boat in spite of the messages, although it is unclear whether it did so before or after they were received.

The incident has called the ministry's credibility into question, as it apparently means the messages were not communicated through the appropriate chain of command.

4. As I'm biting my nails....
North Korea is such a powderkeg, ready to blow. China is starting to make some really threatening noises about Taiwan. South Korea wants to be re-united with N. Korea. Japan is sweating bullets over all this in its back yard.

In the meantime, we have the lunatics in Washington playing nuclear brinkmanship.
