Africans not falling for Bush's charity
Nairobi - United States President George Bush's administration boasts that no other American presidency has done more for Africa than his, and many on the world's poorest continent agree.

But despite Bush's championing of a $15-billion (about R95-billion) anti-Aids programme and efforts to drop trade barriers, sub-Saharan Africa appears to want to see his Democratic challenger, Senator John Kerry, in the White House for the next four years.

Though many Africans are preoccupied with crushing poverty, disease or conflict, the continent - like the world - is keenly interested in the outcome of the November 2 contest.

"If Africa was to vote, Kerry would get a landslide," said Robert Kabushenga, a political analyst and journalist in Uganda.

1. This will
probably encite a massive flame war at me...but why should the USA be so involved in ALL the nations of the world as much as we are. What happened to just tending your own. If we could get our own shit wired tight....maybe then we could afford to help other nations...I mean, what with our exspensive healthcare...Social Security issues, The Frigging WAR on Terra....and all the other bullshit..I say..Tend to our own..and if there is time and money left over...maybe then we could help others.....:wtf:

2. If the public is allowed to focus on domestic issues,
they might notice how they are being screwed raw without
even any KY being supplied.

3. *rolls eyes*
and i sit here wondering how the fuck i am gonna be able to afford to buy my newborn baby formula, if WIC does not approve me to get Enfamill because my child HATES the nestle brand (recently the only brand you can get with WIC), will not drink hardly any of it and has problems digesting it. So i gotta go down and bitch and moan to the health department while Bush and all those asshole are spending assloads of my tax dollars on this farce of a war AND sending money to africa. And how does my husband risk his life to make 4 dollars more an hour then minimum wage and i am STILL below the poverty line? and can't afford to buy formula and barely afford to pay our bills? This shit isn't adding up here. AND THEY ARE SENDING BILLIONS TO AFRICA! i hate the bush administration

*sorry...ranting..un-Godly momment...but this really pisses me off coupled with the bullshit i gotta deal with tomorrow...ARG

6. maybe coz alot of "your own" money/resources
is the result of wholesale theft and exploitation of other nations?

maybe because many nations civil war are exacerbated by US interference? maybe because so many dictators that've made life in the third world so awful were/are propped up by the US?

5. And you know what...
...Maybe if we didn't have all these problems with globalization, the people of Africa wouldn't NEED our help.
