1. I'm skeptical.
I thing the Reich Wing has realized they can't support another war without a draft. We as the opposition are too strong, there would be too large a backlash. Wait till after they organize another calamity like 9/11.

ALWAYS remember 9/12/2000 when PNAC stated we needed another tragedy to advance their Empire Agenda.

That's why I put it out here, to get some opinions.

4. doubt it
DEBKA is a pretty wacky source--I'd take everything they say with a great heaping wheelbarrow full of salt.

We're not going to war with Syria. There may be bombing or special forces operations, but there won't be open high intensity conflict. The military doesn't really have the troops, and there wouldn't be much point.

The main lesson the Cons learned from iraq was "don't occupy, just smash and leave".

6. The Cons left Iraq? Missed that news. They didn't 'smash' it either,
they created on ongoing bloodbath, increased the threat of world terrorism, and destabilized the entire ME. Going after Syria or any other country would be par for their utterly insane course.

8. like I said, they learned their lesson and won't do it again
Destabilizing the middle east was the whole point of it, from their point of view. The 'cons, like the rest of the world, didn't like the way the middle east was and the way it was going, so they decided to shake it up and see what happened.

This has been said before, but I just can't believe there'd be ANY way they could pull it off again. Not ANOTHER war.

Never heard of DEBKA though...what are their credentials?

7. Think about it.

If the US actually intended to attack Syria, would they publish the
fact in advance on Debka? Would heads roll and careers end if it got
leaked to Debka? Does this sort of information have tactical value if
a real conflict is coming?

What is the Shrubites normal reaction when stuff that they really don't
want spread around gets out in public?

On the other hand, if the US was trying to scare Syria, then plastering
threats all over any site willing to publish them would be a good thing.

Whenever you see supposedly "secret" information published without any
sort of qualm or fuss or investigation, it is always the case that it
is some form or bullshit intentionaly put out there and called "secret"
to make it seem more credible.
