1. Good for them!
Baltimore City Police Commissioner Kevin Clark agreed, saying, "As a police officer, I know that the type of gun used to commit a crime can make all the difference. Certainly no one would argue that the snipers could have done the damage they did - shooting with deadly accuracy from hundreds of yards away - with a mere handgun. It took an assault rifle designed to inflict the maximum damage to a human body."

Edited on Wed Sep-17-03 11:27 AM by Romulus
I've seen among the gun grabbers. "Handguns are a threat to society - so they should be banned."

Moving along, their nutshell argument per the press release:

"accurate, long range gunfire is a threat to society"

The current proposal is to ban "weapons that indiscriminately 'hose down an area'", also per the press release.

When banning the "hoses" doesn't eliminate the threat of "long distance, accurate gunfire," what will be done next?

When will it end? :eyes:

I rue the day I moved to this sad excuse for a USAmerican state. (credit to iverglas on the term)

Ehrlich's made no attempt to hide his position.

Just remember all those "Another Democrat for Ehrlich" bumper stickers. Unless they all keel over before the next election, those same voters just may vote for Bob E. yet again like they did the last time.

I wonder what would make them do such a thing. :eyes:

10. That's how it should be.
States should be able to have the say when it comes to gun control. The federal government has no business with anything related to guns. If you don't like the laws of one state you can move to another and enjoy you freedoms. Of course the last time the idea of the states having more power than the federal goverment was suggested we had a little thing called the Civil War happen. Oh wait my bad, the Civil War was because of slavery. Yeah right!

14. "fluke"
Edited on Wed Sep-17-03 04:35 PM by Romulus
I don't see how it can be a "fluke." People had to make a choice to vote for Ehrlich. No hanging chads to blame there. Sure, it was a "bad campaign" that hypnotized a lot of Dems and made them cross the aisle. Yeah, that's it. :eyes:

And those same voters reelected AG Curran by a landslide. I guess that counts as a fluke, too.

Incedentally, more counties in MD went for Ehrlich than KKT, except for the usual suspects (Mo., Balt., PG, How.) in the axis of idiocy that normally thinks it runs the state. However, the opposite was true in Curran's case - he overwhelmingly won pretty much all counties.

Do you think nobody's read your posts?

My posts indicate a sexual attraction to firearms? Creaming your jeans, I believe, is refering to ejaculation. Ejaculation would imply a sexual reaction ergo a sexual attraction to firearms.

No, despite your expression of how YOU would feel about owning a gun, I just buy quality firearms (tools), and don't get excited sexually by them.

Once again, I know you can't link to a post that supports your claim. That is par for the course for you, wise guy.

I still love ya though big guy.

19. No, actually..........
that is considered a self-loading or semi-automatic firearm. There are many pistols out there that are not self-loading. This is the exact thing RKBA supporters hate. People who have never even handled a firearm before all of a sudden can define them for you. An assault weapon by definition is a shoulder mounted, SELECT fire weapon that fires and intermediate sized round from a detachable box magazine. Now, there are other definitions out there but this is the technical definition. The other definitions floating around out there are designed to scare ignorant people into jumping on the failing gun control bandwagon. Don't be one of those people. Do the right thing and educate yourself. You can start by going to the link in my sig line and learning how you can fight to eliminate this useless waste of time and money law.

like a Ruger mini gun or an M-16. If you want to go hunting use a hunting gun. Assault weapons ain't hunting guns!

your definition doesn't count. And who the hell said anything about hunting? Hunting is NOT a protected right? Like I said in my last post it's mind sets like yours that will continue to plague the ignorant people for years to come. On another note I enjoy shooting my semi-automatic military type rifles at paper targets and have never been much of a fan of hunting anything. I currently own two AR-15's, one FAL, one M1A and one AKM. None of which are assault rifles.

32. There are self loading rifles and shotguns designed for hunting
For example the Browning BAR rifle is a semi-automatic rifle that holds 5 rounds in an detachable magazine, is a self loading hunting rifle.

There are also semi-automatic shotguns such as the Browning Auto 5 which are designed for HUNTING.

You have way too much knowledge of firearms to be anti gun. You know what a mini gun is, so you obviously know its not an assault weapon. You just named 2 guns that are most obviously not assault weapons in order to get a flame thread started. I have noticed about all your posts are like this. Funny thing is, you have all the anti RKBAers eating it up, and you piss off everyone else. Sorry to blow your cover. Next time dont make so many flame threads on the AWB and you might get past me. :-)
